    On 20-24 May 2022, the SMILE (Solar Wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer) Mission 23rd Scientific Working Team (SWT) and 17th Joint Meeting was successfully held in Shenzhen.

  • The flight model of Magnetometer for SMILE mission has been delivered to ESA

    On March 14 2024, the Flight model of MAG (Magnetometer), one of the payloads onboard SMILE satellite, passed the Acceptance review in Shanghai, China. Experts from IAMC (Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of CAS), ESTEC (European Space Research and Technology Centre), AIRBUS Defense and NSSC(National Space Science Center)set up a joint review panel, carried out inspection of MAG FM.

  • SMILE Milestone: SMILE to ride Vega-C for Space

    On 30 April, the European Space Agency (ESA) and Arianespace officially signed a launcher services contract for the launch of the Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer (SMILE) on a Vega-C launcher from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.

  • Successful delivery acceptance testing of LIA

    Recently, the Light Ion Analyser (LIA) passed through the delivery acceptance testing which is organized by the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before this, LIA already passed the formal delivery acceptance review organized by the European Space Agency (ESA).

  • Successful delivery of MAG to ESA

    On March 14, 2024, the Magnetometer (MAG) payload passed through the review of inspection and acceptance successfully. At present, it has been delivered to Airbus. MAG is the first payload for launch that has been delivered.

    On 1-4 November 2022, the SMILE (Solar Wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer) Mission 20th Scientific Working Team (SWT) and 14th Joint Meeting was held in university of Leicester, United Kingdom.
