The Second joint COSPAR/CAS Jeoujang Jaw Award Review Meeting Held

CSSAR---The Second review meeting of COSPAR/CAS Jeoujang Jaw Award was held in Chinese Academy of Sciences on May 6th, 2010. JIANG Mianheng, Vice President of CAS,chaired the review. Prof. WU Ji, secretary general of CNCOSPAR  and 11 Academicians attended the conference. The review board selected one candidate after detail discussion who will get the award on the 38th COSPAR Scientific Assembly Opening/Award Ceremony that will be held on July 19, 2010.

The Jeoujang Jaw Award (COSPAR and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing) recognizes scientists who have made distinguished pioneering contributions to promoting space research, establishing new space science research branches and founding new exploration programs. The first Jeoujang Jaw Award was bestowed Professor James L. Burch from Southwest Research Institute, USA, who is IMAGE scientist and made distinguished pioneer contributions to promoting space research, and providing the first opportunity to image magnetosphere regions on global scale.
