General Affairs Office, CSSAR--International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) announced presently that WU Ji, the director of CSSAR, CAS, also a space science expert, was elected committee of IAA Space Physical Sciences specialized commission.

WU, also a corresponding academician of IAA, is the only Chinese committee among the 10 committees of IAA Space Physical Sciences specialized commission. IAA encourages international space scientific cooperation through scientific symposia and meetings and the work of six specialized commissions: Space Physical Sciences, Space Life Sciences, Space Technology and System Development, Space System Operation and Utilization, Space Policy Law and Economy, Space and Society Culture and Education.

Since its founding on Aug. 16, 1960 in Stockholm, Sweden, the IAA has brought together the world's foremost experts in the disciplines of astronautics on a regular basis to recognize the accomplishments of their peers, to explore and discuss cutting-edge issues in space research and technology, and to provide direction and guidance in the non-military uses of space and the ongoing exploration of the solar system.
