Laboratory of Integrated Space Electronics Technology(LISET)

LISET is one of the research divisions of CSSAR. The major research field of LISET is integrated spacecraft electronics information system. It’s mian task is to develop electronic devices for satellites.

The laboratory had been in charge of making the payload data management systems for Chinese manned space flight SZ project, Double Stars Project being finished by cooperation with ESA. The payload data management system consists of mainly bus controller, remote terminal, high speed multiplexer, solid-state recorder, payload power distributor, and S or X band data transmitter, etc.

The others tasks had been in charge of  include of tele-science in 863 astronautical high technology fields; payloads data management and telemetry/telecommand technology for small and mini satellites; fluid science experiment device in space micro-gravity environment, and the related subjects research and application project developments.

LISET is now in charge of making the payload data management systems (PDMS)for  Chinese first lunar exploration project. The PDMS is a distributed system based on the 1553B data bus; it consists of Bus Controller (BC), Solid State Recorder (SSR), High Rate Multiplexer (HRM), Remote Terminal (RT) and Power Distributor (PD). Most of the payloads access the system via 1553B data bus. Laser altimeter and Space environment monitor system are connected to the RT. PDMS acquire the science and housekeeping data of the payloads through 1553B data bus and store the data in the SSR or inner the payload memories. When the spacecraft pass the ground station access range, the stored data and the real time data will be interpolated and capsulated by the HRM to form a serial of Coded Virtual Channel Data Units (CVCDU) according the CCSDS standard and be transmitted to the Earth. The PDMS is flexible and effective; if any payload retreats from the exploration the others will share its store and transmission resources.

LISET consists of several research items, including high-speed and reliable on-board computers, networks; data storage and compression; High Rate Multiplexer; Satellites Special Power Supplier and Distributor; data-link communication equipment between satellites or space to ground and so forth.
